Whether you’re training for your next marathon or simply looking to enjoy nature instead of hitting the “dreadmill”, as your Vancouver real estate experts, we’ve got you covered for where your best bets are to hit the pavement. Here’s our list of the best running routes in Vancouver!
The False Creek Loop lets you enjoy Vancouver from a fish-eye view. Starting from Granville Island, cross the iconic Burrard Street Bridge, veer right through Yaletown’s David Lam Park and pass landmarks like BC Place and Science World as you loop back along the inner harbour towards the starting line. The salty sea air and tourist spotting will make this 9 km run a cinch.
Hit the trails in Pacific Spirit Park for a nature-inspired 10 km close to convenient bus stop start and end points. Smack-dab in the middle of UBC Endowment lands, this oasis of green forest also features trickling creeks and muddy bogs. Keep an eye out for dogs underfoot!
The Spanish Banks Loop will takes you along shoreline views of the West Vancouver mountains and then up into the beautiful expanse of the UBC Endowment Lands as you loop back to complete the 6.45 km run to your starting point. Expect hills and some traffic, especially during the busy summer months, but the views are worth it!
The easy, 1 km Trout Lake Loop is a popular East Vancouver run. Perfect for that early morning pre-work jog, the Trout Lake trail also offers an easy start for new runners; all the benefits of the outdoors, none of the traffic.
Looking for a challenge? The Howe Sound Crest Trail is 30 km of mountain terrain for hardcore, experienced runners. Pass through St. Marks Summit, The Lions, and Deeks Lake as you head from Cypress Bowl to Porteau Cove. And if you do tackles this mountainous experience–we want to see pictures!
