The May Real Estate numbers are out and home sales continue to be newsworthy. In East Vancouver the detached home market price range from $900,000-$1,250,000 is seeing 75% of the listings selling! The Fraser Street area had 22 new listings in May and 22 sold! East Vancouver is truly a “local” market with very little to no speculators with many new homes, duplexes and row townhouses being built. Pre-sales are selling out quickly again. In a recent article Bob Rennie said that most condo buyers live within 10 kilometres of the buildings they are buying into, and they are often are receiving help from family to buy. Density is increasing in single family neighbourhoods as most new homes include a basement suite, and there is a new trend to have a coach house, or laneway house as well.
